Autumn 1927

(In Lithuanian: „1927-ųjų ruduo… (J. Tumas-Vaižgantas kyla Žaliakalnio laiptais)“)

The painting is featured in my current solo show “The New Art Deco: Kaunas” at the gallery “Aukso Pjūvis” (BLC, Donelaičio 62, Kaunas). More about exhibition >

The painting has the aspect of being representational but its core is the harmonic composition of shapes, their colours, positions, and, most importantly, the ‘visual sound’ of all these aspects as one orchestrated piece.

With this artwork I continuing my visual exploration of universal (‘cosmic’) music/rhythm within ourselves. This theme is one of the most important reoccurring themes in my oeuvre.
