The Ferryman

The main idea of the artwork is to express the indescribable feeling when a soul and/or mind is on transition from ‘reality’ to ‘unreality’ (like dreams or visions). The ferryman – Psychopomp – symbolises the subconscious vehicle which has the capability of taking us to somewhere out there.

The line artwork – the boat – is based on prehistoric Norwegian and Swedish petroglyphs (rock carvings). The white line was molded using acrylic paint, and stands substantially elevated (approx. 3 mm) over already strong texture of the painting.
